The Many Vacations in the Palm Beaches
Palm Beach is often overlooked when planning a trip to South Florida as Miami and Fort Lauderdale’s unloved little brother. At first glance, it’s seems easy to understand with Miami’s nightlife that never closes and Fort Lauderdale’s 23 miles of beaches. However, there’s a reason the Trumps and Vanderbilt’s have been vacationing in Palm Beach for decades. The city packs in lot of vacation into a much smaller, more manageable space. Even the Palm Beach airport is stress free!
Here are three great vacation ideas for the Palm Beaches:

A Family Beach Getaway
Unlike its wilder older siblings, Palm Beach is a great place for a family beach getaway. Mom can shop the shops, Dad get hit the links, and the kids can catch a wave on a boogie board. The Breakers, located just north of Palm Beach’s shopping and entertainment district, make The Breakers your first choice serving families with a golf course, private beaches, and four swimming pools.
If you’re seeking more of a secluded family getaway, just north of Palm Beach is Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort and Spa. Not only does the resort have three pools, including one of the largest in the area, it’s also located close to the Palm Beach Zoo for when the kids get a little restless building yet another sandcastle.
A Romantic Weekend Away
Sometimes the ideal vacation is a long weekend away from home getting spoiled at a luxury resort with just the two of you. Palm Beach has plenty of resort choices to make that romantic weekend away unforgettable. On six acres of oceanfront real estate, the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach will not disappoint. The property is located far enough away from the hub of Palm Beach to offer relaxation, but close enough for easy access. Splurge with a couples massage in the spa.
Tideline Ocean Resort and Spa is a Kimpton Hotel that is going through a major renovation but shouldn’t be overlooked. The rooms are modernly appointed with stellar views of the ocean and a pillow menu. Cap off your weekend away by eating at Brandon’s by the Beach where you can dine under the stars.

A Luxury Shopper’s Paradise
From fine shopping on Worth Avenue featuring retailers such as Tiffany, Gucci, Tourneau, Cartier and Chanel to antiquing on Antique Row, the Palm Beaches has something to please even the most finicky shoppers. There are plenty of hotel choices steps from the main shopping districts. Near Worth Avenue is Colony Hotel also offering easy access to the beach with a poolside bar for relaxing after a day of shopping. To contrast a day of antique shopping, stay at Hotel Biba which offers modern furnishings in a historic home. At Hotel Biba, you’ll also be near Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens and CityPlace.
Palm Beach packs all the shopping, beaches, and activities found in much busier Miami and Fort Lauderdale into more of a small town feel. You should definitely consider it as an alternative on your next trip to South Florida.
