A Thriving Gastropub Scene
The Alchemist Gastropub and Bar is a new participant in the gastropub scene in the downtown Clematis neighborhood. According to the restaurant, the menu features “Mediterranean-influenced dishes and contemporary interpretations of comfort classics.” They also have a “Hangover Cure” brunch on the weekends because there’s nothing better than greasy eggs and bacon paired with a breakfast stout to help wash away the lingering effects of last night.
City Tap House is another great option with modern American fare menu items like mussels and fries, wood-fired pizzas, and a creative assortment of small plates. Wash it all down with a selection from the lengthy and fun beer menu. Be on the lookout for what cask ales are pouring from their beer engine.
Perhaps not everyone in your group is a craft beer fan? Then check out The Blind Monk. What is classified as a wine and tapas bar has a rather rare and varied craft beer menu as well. Each item on both the craft beer and wine menus is hand-selected by an on-staff sommelier and cicerone. You won’t go hungry as the kitchen serves small plates and charcuterie to snack on with your liquid libation.
Brewery Fresh Craft Beer West Palm Beach
While you won’t be able to find a craft brewery within the West Palm Beach city limits, there is a cidery though. Accomplice Brewery specializes in hard ciders and hosts many fun events throughout the week like ladies night, trivia night, and 80s music nights. Plus, there’s always a food truck on site. Ookapow Brewing is scheduled to open in Spring of 2017.
There are plenty of breweries just a short drive away. Just north of town you’ll find Twisted Trunk Brewing in Palm Beach Gardens. Here’s a sampling of what’s on draft: El Dorado IPA, Session IPA, German Pilsner, Irish Red, Watermelon Saison, English Stout, and Black Saison. Twisted Trunk also pours select beers from Tequesta, its sister brewery.
South of West Palm in Boyton Beach is Due South Brewing, winner of the 2014 Best Large Brewery in the Florida Beer Championships. Be sure to try their hallmark Caramel Cream Ale or one of their various Category IPAs ranging from sessional to imperial. Since this guide original published in 2015, Copperpoint Brewing opened within walking Distance of Due South. There beers cover pilsners, IPAs, saisons, and wheats – all perfect Florida beers. NOBO Brewing is schedule to open in early 2017.
Bottle Shops to Help Stock Your Hotel Room
Pickings are slim for bottle shops with many options closing since this post originally came out. The only option is Market on Clematis in downtown. You can also stock up on liquor as well. Other than that, find a Publix. They normally have a good selection of Florida breweries including Funky Buddha, Cigar City, and Intuition.

Help fellow craft beer fans traveling to West Palm Beach? What’s missing from this list for craft beer West Palm Beach?
If you’re looking for a great selection of craft beer,or just a beer from across the world, you have to stop by Berto’s Corner Store Bait and Tackle. A local landmark, they are real close to the Palm Beach International Airport, right off of Southern and I-95. Half their store is just craft and imports, over 900 kinds, and they are always making room for more. We had family visit from out of the country, and they were so excited to see beer from their home. We had such a blast checking out this family run shop, they helped us pick out a wonderful selection to take back to the hotel (which is also close to the store! How convenient!).
